The Rebellious North told of important tales which have developed the history of the North East, as well as the whole country.
The story went from the Romans up to the miners’ strike, exploring key moments such as the arrival of the Vikings, the War of the Roses and the Hexham Riot.
It was an immersive, adventure, featuring the Romans, Vikings, clashing knights, dragons, and familiar landmarks. Auckland Castle was the perfect location to tell the history of the North-East, projected onto the side of the Scottish Wing. Over three nights the Scottish Wing at Auckland Castle was transformed into an atmospheric animation. The audience was taken on a journey through some of the most tempestuous events that have shaped the history of a turbulent land: England.
