Project Description
Projection Mapping the Past is a creative idea aimed to re-establish a proper connection between culture and the community.
It is meant to be a magic performance which explores historical facts told via projection mapping installations and through which people can experience a journey into the past.
The Rebellious North was the first event ever of its kind in Bishop Auckland as well as at the Auckland Castle.
The show proposed a bespoke animation projected onto the exterior wall of the Scotland Wing in the grounds of Auckland Castle and was part of the FebFest in Bishop Auckland.
It was a collaborative project supported by Arts Council telling significant tales which have made the story of the northeast, as well as the whole country. From the Romans up to the Miners strike, exploring key moments as the arrival of Vikings, the war of Roses and the Hexham Riot.
